Executive jobs are few and far between because as the higher the level you are on your workplace hierarchy the less jobs are generally available at that tier. They are, of course, usually very highly paid and you can expect a hefty 6-figure salary if you make it to the top and some performance related bonuses. If you make it into a huge multinational corporation at an executive or chief executive level you could even expect to earn a 7-figure salary and get the same again, sometimes more, in performance-related bonuses if your targets have been met over a time period.
So where does one start to look for these executive jobs? A lot of jobs of this nature will be filled by headhunting which means that if you know someone that’s moving from your company to a different one, tell them to mention your name at the other company and you might get tracked down to take an executive-level job. Apart from that, if you get an excellent reputation at your company it is very possible that the headhunters will still come looking for you and offering you good money to entice you out of your job. This doesn’t mean to say that you can’t be proactive about finding such a job though – there are plenty of websites on the internet that specialize in executive-level appointments and if you travel to a relatively large city you will be able to find agencies offering these top jobs to the right candidate.
